Most of March is closed to fishing with the annual season opening the last Saturday of March, continuing for eleven months and ending the last day of February the following year. No other type of fishing license is required nor accepted for Tribal Enterprise Waters. Two, three, and five-day permits are available at a reduced rate ($14, $20 & $28 respectively) and a season's permit costs $150.00. Dozens of local businesses in Cherokee are authorized outlets for fishing permits, but these are not currently available at the casino or hotel. Children under twelve are allowed to fish with a permitted adult. A one day tribal permit costs $7 for each person 12 years of age and over. Soco Creek, located between Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort, is part of the approximately 30 miles of Tribal Enterprise streams and six acres of ponds open to public fishing for a modest fee.
